Marty Loesch

Marty Loesch is the founding partner of Insight Strategic Partners and a highly sought out advisor and strategist who served as Chief of Staff to Washington Governor Chris Gregoire.

In the governor’s office, Marty was general counsel and director of external affairs before becoming chief of staff. In that role, Marty led the executive team and served as the principal advisor to the governor on policy, legislative, legal, communications, and political matters.

Marty was COO at Strategies 360, a public and government affairs firm with offices in ten western states and Washington DC, where he oversaw most of the firm’s operations. Marty was also the Director of Inter-Governmental Affairs and the tribal attorney for the Swinomish Indian Tribe, representing tribal interests with local, state, and federal governments, and overseeing business operations and an economic development team. As an attorney with several private law firms, Marty was a principal in TechRisk.Law, a risk management law firm focused on high-tech clients. Marty was also a partner and litigator at Gordon & Polscer, and specialized in environmental insurance coverage litigation at Karr Tuttle Campbell. Additionally, Marty served as an international law consultant with Catholic Relief Services, reviewing humanitarian practices in Kosovo, and has been an international elections monitor on numerous occasions.

Originally from Indiana, Marty now lives in a log house he and his wife built with the help of as many volunteers as they could muster. He enjoys hiking, reading nonfiction, sailing with his family in the San Juan Islands, and keeping up with his daughter’s busy schedule, including lacrosse meets and choir performances.

Marty has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and juris doctors and master of laws degrees from the Notre Dame School of Law. He is the author of numerous legal and scholarly articles and has served on multiple boards.
