Caron Cargill

Caron Benedetti Cargill is a senior advisor at Insight Strategic Partners with experience working on a broad range of issues including transportation, environment, energy, election reform and access, education, healthcare, and taxation with and within state and local governments. 

Before joining Insight, Caron was the State Relations Director and Lobbyist for the City of Seattle where she managed the City’s state portfolio and advocated on behalf of the City’s many interests. During her time at the City, Caron developed a reputation for being approachable and skilled at working through challenging political environments. 

Prior to her time at the City, Caron worked at K&L Gates where she focused on school district issues and their needs at the state level. She developed expertise in education policy, school district capital and operating needs, and issues related to McCleary. She also spent a significant amount of time working with the firm’s political action committee.  

Caron built the foundation of her Olympia-based work at the State Legislature where she spent almost five years as an Executive Legislative Aide for Speaker Pro Tempore Jeff Morris and Transportation Chair Judy Clibborn.  Her time at the Legislature gave her experience working with leadership and on issues related to energy and transportation. 

Additionally, Caron teaches Policy Analysis at Seattle University’s Master of Public Administration Program. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington Highway Users Federation and volunteers as a classroom lobbyist with TVW’s Capitol Classroom.
