SUMMARY OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Government relations support. Monitor hearings at the local, state and federal levels and produce written reports about them; track bills as they are introduced and move through the legislative process; develop legislative scorecards; monitor media and news on issues of interest; assist with scheduling of meetings with elected officials and the production of materials relevant for those meetings; provide on-the-ground support in Olympia during the legislative session, as needed.
2. Editorial content. Produce external- and internal-facing newsletters, including a COVID newsletter and daily clips relating to our clients and work, and assist with drafting and posting of social media content for clients and Insight.
3. Research and analysis. Engage in policy research and writing and other research related to our work around government relations and political activities.
4. Elections. Track election results and assist with campaign finance activity (including fundraising and contributions).
5. Special Projects. Provide support to Insight team on projects as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience.
2. Interest in the workings of government and possibly even experience working within it.
3. Proficient computer skills, including basic MS Office skills: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
8. Ability to perform well under pressure and strict time constraints.
SALARY
Salary range is $50,000 to $60,000, depending on experience.

LOCATION
Our office is in downtown Seattle, and we currently have a hybrid approach of in-person and remote working. The job may occasionally require visits to Olympia or other locations outside the office in Washington state.
